First Class Training with Patrick Walkington

I am a British Triathlon Level 3 High Performing Coach with Ironman University and Training Peaks accreditations.

I am a qualified Wattbike Advanced Practitioner and am also a professional bicycle mechanic.

I have a degree in Sport Science & Coaching and understand why and how to do things properly.

I have been a triathlete and cross triathlete for more than 10 years starting as a complete novice and have now raced at every distance including European and World Championship level.

With my knowledge and experience, I fully appreciate what is required to not only complete a triathlon, but how to compete in one as well.

My coaching experience includes several years as a club head coach, sitting on a British Triathlon Coaches Committee and coaching with the North West Regional Academy.

I coach a wide and diverse range of athletes from novices through to top end age groupers and offer Wattbike testing and analysis, bicycle servicing, bike fitting and anything else triathlon related.

I put together comprehensive individualised, structured and realistic training plans to ensure you reach your goals and swim, bike and run to your true potential.

All my indoor bike sessions are Zwift and Smart Trainer compatible.

I offer Wattbike testing and analysis, bicycle servicing and bike fitting (if proximity allows) and anything else triathlon related.

As well as being a UK Anti-Doping Advisor, I’m also an ambassador for Generation UCAN and all PTC athletes will receive a discount code for UCAN products.

I believe in a coaching philosophy where communication, consistency and simplicity are key.

You will also receive text/email/WhatsApp etc. support including psychology and race day strategy, nutrition, hydration and kit advice.

Please contact me for a no obligation chat – you have nothing to lose and so much to gain.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Coach Pat.

“I have followed Pats programme to the letter and have now found myself enjoying running. Pats encouraging, positive and professional approach I can honestly say has made all the difference. He is a fantastic motivator and Coach. I am usually jumping into Lochs and Lakes to get my adrenaline rushes but have recently completed 2 x 10km runs and got the same buzz and did my first parkrun recently. Pat has made me realise that following a structured programmed, wearing the right gear and believing in yourself is the perfect recipe for achieving your goals. Thanks Pat.”

Karen, USwim Co-owner

“We now have a fully fledged weekly track session up and running, thanks in part to you, so really greatly appreciated the track sessions, thank you.”

Justin, Cornwall Tri Club

“Rossendale Triathlon Club have benefited immeasurably from having Pat as our Head Coach for the past 2 years and he has motivated and educated a lot of our members from beginners to elite athletes. Pat is approachable, friendly, and above all a very knowledgeable triathlete and coach who ensures his training sessions are performed in a safe and enjoyable environment. We cannot recommend Pat highly enough and speaking on behalf of all our members he is without doubt an outstanding coach and has assisted so many of us in fulfilling our triathlon goals.”

Vanessa, Rossendale Triathlon Club Founder Member

“Pat helped me round a lap of Ironman UK, he’s a good motivator that’s for sure.”

Jackie, Multiple Ironman Finisher

“Great ride out this morning with Pat and his team. Come for a ride they said. You will love it they said…….OMG…….Then that hill, wow, why is the bloody hill at the end of the course – that’s just evil. Well it wasn’t a pretty climb – lots of snot and tears, and  never have I come so close to quitting but somehow with the right words from Pat I made it. That was the most epic and hardest training I have done and I just could not of done it without Pat keeping me motivated at all times – Cheers for that.”

Robert, Open Water Swim and BATS Coach

“Was a great ride. Coach Pat is a legend. Can’t wait for the next one.”

James, Ironman Finisher

“2016 will be the second season that Pat has been coaching me. As a result of the structured training plans I receive, my fitness and stamina levels have increased dramatically. I completed two half iron distance events last year and in the second race bettered my time by nearly 30 minutes.  My work can sometimes mean unpredictable hours and time away. Pat never sees this as a problem and is flexible enough to incorporate this into my plan.  Pat’s real world attitude to triathlon training definitely works. I am more motivated and focused in my training and this is all down to Pat.”

Graeme, Ironman Finisher, GB Age Grouper and Triathlon Coach

“In 2017, I out-biked 5 of the 10 female pro athletes at Iron “Pat took a lot of time in the initial months to understand my aims, how much time I had to train, family and work pressures and my triathlon experience. Pat is very approachable and always happy to talk through ideas, worries and thoughts. Pat’s advice not only covers the training, resting, nutrition and planning, but also elements of psychology. He also instilled the value of recovery. Pat’s coaching has been the best investment I’ve ever made in my Triathlon training.”

Lee, Ironman Finisher
